Lausanne Movement

Transforming Sydney endorses the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization and the The Lausanne Covenant.

We also highly recommend and encourage you to read the Lausanne Occasional Papers (LOPs) released by the Lausanne Movement. Transforming Sydney uses these as some of our prime resources to develop guidelines and processes. (Note that only a sub-set of the LOPs are listed here.)

Please read the above documents - they are a result of working committees made of representatives from Christian communities across the world representing all denominations, and as a result are very professional and relevant in character, without being theologically wordy, and are accepted across the universal church.

Revival in Australia and Abroad

Dr. Geoff Waugh, Renewal Journal

Geoff is a teacher and a Baptist minister. He was the Director of Distance Education at the Uniting Church's Trinity Theological College and taught at Christian Heritage College in Brisbane. He has authored several books:

  • "Church on Fire" - renewal and revival reports from Australia in the late 20th century.
  • "Flashpoints of Revival" - general survey of revivals, with a 21st century update.
  • "South Pacific Revivals" - revival transformation among Australian aborigines and in South Pacific islands.

Business Alpha

Transforming Sydney supports Business Alpha as a means to enable people in the workplace to explore the meaning of life and to understand how knowing Christ leads to a real relationship with God. The Business Alpha course is a completely free of any charge and is designed to help you explore the meaning of life.

Those who run Business Alpha in a business or workplace setting are all volunteers from a variety of Christian church backgrounds who work in Central Business Districts or other business locations. All have been enriched in their faith and their sense of purpose in life through attending an Alpha course. Becoming A Disciple of Jesus

Transforming Sydney encourages discipleship training, and we have found the resource "Becoming a Disciple of Jesus" a book written by Tony McLennan and designed to help you model your life on Jesus, to be an excellent resource. Courses can be run at your parish or church or in your work place.

This book is designed to help you become a disciple of Jesus - to model your life on Him. If there were a job description in the scriptures that laid out our function as a disciple, this book would be close to that description indeed.

Compiled over a period some six years and based on an Alpha follow up course run in Australia called Alpha Plus, Becoming a Disciple of Jesus helps to provide the studies, the scripture memory and insights that are essential to the growing Christian. And for those who have yet to make Jesus their Lord and who wish to do so, Becoming a Disciple of Jesus provides a robust framework to learn what it means to be a person who lives a life in obedience to God.

Life in the Spirit

Transforming Sydney partners with the Catholic Charismatic Renewal to promote "Life in the Spirit" Seminars, these seminars are run by the Catholic Charismatic Renewal Sydney NSW. The CCR team, also very much involved with the healing ministry sometimes called 'Prayer Ministry', they have adapted the Elijah House prayer ministry course as a training source for this.

Transforming Sydney refers Catholics and other interested persons to the website of the Catholic Adult Education Centre, an agency of the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney. Located in Lidcombe, the Centre offers courses on the Catholic faith, runs the Mustard Seed Bookshop, publishes INFORM six times a year, organises seminars on various aspects of the Catholic faith, offers pre-marriage courses, and publishes an annual Lenten program.

Cannon Jim Glennon was born in Sydney, Australia, educated at Moore Theological College and the University of Sydney, and was ordained in the Anglican Church. In 1988 he completed 33 years on the staff of St Andrew's Cathedral, having been responsible for a weekly service of Divine Healing of 28 years, which was reputed to be the largest healing ministry in the Anglican Communion.
Canon Jim Glennon conducted teaching missions on the Healing Ministry throughout Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. He is also the Author of bestselling book "How can I find Healing".
