Achieve the Vision for Sydney

Sydney is already divided into geographic regions for governance and jurisdiction:

  • Sydney CBD
  • Inner-West, Parramatta, Penrith, Blue Mountains
  • North Shore, Northern Beaches, Hornsby
  • East, South Sydney, Sutherland, South-West, Campbelltown, etc.

These regions consist of multiple LGAs (Local Government Authorities).

Achieve the Vision for Inner-West Sydney

Inner-West Sydney consists of seven LGAs:

  • Leichhardt, Marrickville
  • Ashfield, Burwood, Strathfield
  • City of Canada Bay
  • City of Canterbury

An LGA is the local civil authority that we must work with (the level below NSW), and each LGA covers several Suburbs or Localities.

Therefore to see transfomation in a region, we must first implement a strategy for transformation of the Suburbs in each LGA, engaging spiritually in prayer to break through barriers to transformation (see Prayer Walking and Prayer Mapping).

Inner-West Sydney Mission

Transforming Sydney is connecting and encouraging Christians from all the Inner West of Sydney to adopt and start praying for their own suburbs. This is not a task for one or two people, this is for all believers in all churches to become the Mission to the Inner-West; Transforming Sydney is there to help, but it their Mission.

We are asking for churches in the Inner-West to host a prayer and worship night with Transforming Sydney and to invite other churches to join with us. In unity and humilty we will raise our voices to heaven to invite the Holy Spirit to come and dwell in our hearts, our homes, our churches and the marketplaces across the Inner-West: "His kingdom come, His will be done in the Inner-West as it is in heaven." Transforming Sydney will assist with encouraging materials, media and dialogue, but each host church retains control over what they want to present and the programme of the evening.
