Family & Marriage
(Written by Bjorn Schmid)
Make no mistake, marriage is under attack in Australia - there is a vocal fringe
which has managed to catch the ears of our politicians because they are a 'squeaky wheel'.
Do not let laws be passed unchallenged that destroy the whole foundation of our society,
the very purpose of its existence.
God established the family when he created Adam and Eve, and this was before all other earthly institutions.
| |
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it."
[Genesis 1:27-28 NIV]

The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman', for she was taken out of man."
For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
[Genesis 2:23-24 NIV]

I urge you to contact your local MPs today, state and federal, and let them know you believe in Marriage
as it has served our people for countless generations.
Tell them to ignore the ranting of these minority elements that seek legitimacy for their own agendas
which are not in the national interest.
Tell them to focus instead on real issues that will protect our people from real rather than imagined injustices,
and protect our national assets from being taken away from the people of Australia.
Please also have a look at make a stand and be counted,
and participate in Marriage Week.
A Communication to My Federal MP
I'm happy to report that The Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon commenced on 2nd September 2011 to faithfully send out a weekly email to his constituents.
Whether you agree or not with his or the Australian Labor Party's policies and positions, it is good to see some sort of regular accountability of an MP to their electorate.

Stop the Marriage Menagerie
|

To my dear MP,
Before all of our modern and ancient civilisations, there existed the
union of man and woman, not only for the purpose of providing a secure
relationship for each other and their offspring, but also to ensure the
survival of our species. We enshrined this relationship into a legal
status of "marriage" so that both parties would not take a casual approach to it
but instead make a verbal and written commitment to each other in the
presence of witnesses and a priest or other authority. In return for
this commitment, the relationship drew respect and honour in society,
and the children of the union were recognised and encouraged to develop
as individuals under the umbrellas of their family and community, and
expected to do likewise as they came of age. This IS the foundation of
all successful human societies (primitive and developed).
If we recall the history of decadence in cultures such as the Grecian
and Roman empires, we can clearly see that the decline of the family
unit is directly linked to the decline in these civilisations. We know
now also that apart from the social breakdown, the genetic pool of
succeeding generations is made weak by undisciplined relationships,
which presents itself in sickly children and/or congenital mental
illness.
The question for you is why do we want to encourage this? Why are we
trying to institutionalise unhealthy mutations of marriage just to
satisfy the demands of a minority of Australians? Why are we trying
hard to confuse our children even more than they are now as to their
identity? Why are you not defending a fundamental way of life that
ensures our survival? Did we leave behind the self-destructive spiral
of the cold war only to devolve into a sub-animal culture that will
extinguish itself not with nuclear bombs but with the removal of
protective laws and safe-guards? Is this what our fathers and mothers
fought to achieve, and sometimes had to die to defend?
If we give into the Green's demand for gay marriage, when and where will
it stop? Next the legal age for Children and sex will be challenged -
we'll have to release and recompense paedophiles in prison. (Some of the
Greens are already promoting pre-school sex education - what happened to
innocence?) Honour killings will be demanded. At what point are we
going to say 'No', and at what point will we lose the legal ability to
say 'No'?
Oppose the Greens on this. Labor made a promise to not consider gay
marriage during the current term.
"It only takes a little Green to turn Labor Brown." - make this false
and keep it false.
Thankyou,
Bjorn Seaberg-Schmid.

Dear Mr Schmid
Thank you for your email regarding the debate over same sex marriage. I apologise for the delay in replying.
I am proud of the work the Labor Government did over the course of the past three years to deliver a nationally
consistent framework for relationship recognition which will be implemented by the States and Territories.
Victoria, ACT, NSW and Tasmania have established relationship recognition schemes and relationships recognised
under these schemes are now recognised in a wide range of Commonwealth laws.
The Government will continue to encourage other jurisdictions to develop such schemes.
Further, the Government’s commitment to removing discrimination was demonstrated by its reforms
to remove discrimination from 85 Commonwealth laws. These reforms, which passed in 2009,
removed discrimination and equalised treatment for same-sex couples in areas of taxation,
social security, health, aged care, superannuation, immigration, child support and family law.
These reforms extend to same sex couples the same entitlements and obligations that apply
to opposite sex couples.
Equal treatment means some same-sex couples will get access to benefits they could not previously access.
On the question of amendments to the Marriage Act, I have had many constituents lobby me on both sides of the debate
and I will keep an open mind in the lead up to any debate Labor may have at National Conference later this year.
Yours Sincerely
Joel Fitzgibbon

RE: Marriage |

To my esteemed MP,
Thankyou for carefully considering your response – I'm sure that five months to respond to constituents
is quite normal for busy parliamentarians.
The Hon. Senator Faulkner must be quite idle since he responded the same day I sent the message (7-Feb-2011).
So what you are supporting is that 6, 10, 20, 100, whatever many thousands of years we've recognised 'marriage'
as being the public affirmation of a relationship between a male and female of our species is in fact incorrect:
it is 'discriminatory' against those who have now chosen to leave the deep roots of our human society behind
and start a 'brave new world' reliant on terminology and technology to survive. That's nice.
It'll be just too bad if our natural disasters continue to the point where our terminology and technology are
useless and we have only our raw human nature and courage to survive. I daresay homosexual agendas and
legal posturing will evaporate in importance fairly quickly under those circumstances.
I'm sure it was foremost in the minds of the flood victims in Queensland and Victorian earlier this year;
they were probably losing sleep over it don't you think? Not.
We still have aboriginal communities struggling with a multitude of social problems across our nation.
We still have serious issues with infrastructure that are not addressed (unless they achieve political goals).
We still have social (and financial) inequities experienced by mentally disadvantaged and ethnic groups,
but of course this pales in importance to a bunch of affluent people who have chosen to live outside
social norms of their own free will, and are agitating to force the rest of society accept their
indifference of the community they were born into, doesn't it?
I'd like to see these grumbling superior species dig mud out of people's homes and rebuild blasted houses in Queensland.
What happened to Labor's priorities? When did they put the needs of the ordinary man and woman of Australia,
who are struggling to raise their kids in the best environment that they can
(that was why we fought in two world wars and other wars wasn't it)
behind the needs of a minority of Australians who chose to turn their back on their roots?
Does this mean in future that we should also give some radical Islamic and
other dissident groups special rights and laws also?
"Hey join the XYZ party and we'll lobby for special recognition; to be treated more importantly than other Australians!"
The average family home in Australia is becoming unaffordable - what are you doing about it? (Or is it NMP? Not my portfolio?)
Stop the madness, get off and let's focus our priorities on the real needs of our nation.
Stop, before you start discriminating against the people who are actually building the country,
not the ones who are spending its riches.
Thankyou,
Bjorn Seaberg-Schmid.
